Katie Price’s son Harvey has lost a stone in weight after embracing a healthy diet at his residential college.
The 20-year-old, who has Prader-Willi syndrome, had reached 29 stone last year, due to his condition causing excessive hunger.
Katie has previously tried to help Harvey lose weight by encouraging him to exercise but revealed that he had lost a stone after embracing healthy food at college.
She shared a video of Harvey wearing bunny ears as he tucked into a plate of crunchy chopped carrots.
Katie, 44, told her followers: ‘I’m so proud of Harvey he has lost a stone now and his college are doing amazing trying to keep him active and healthy eating as it’s now become life threatening with his weight #lovemyson.’
In the video, filmed by the staff at the college where he lives during the week, Harvey told the camera: ‘Hi mummy,’ before adding: ‘I’m feeling healthy eating carrots.’
Harvey was seen popping a slice of carrot into his mouth before quietly telling the woman behind the camera: ‘Keep recording’.
He was seen smiling as he munched the snack before saying again that the carrots were ‘so healthy’.
Since moving to his college, Harvey has been learning skills to live independently, including going to the supermarket to buy ingredients to make his own dinners.
In December 2020, Katie revealed that Harvey had lost 4kg in a week after she arranged for pre-made meals for him and kitted out fiancé Carl Woods’ garage with workout equipment for her son.
She told OK! magazine at the time: ‘We’ve got some gym stuff for him and put it all in Carl’s garage. Prep Kitchen are also going to send meals to his school.
‘We want to try anything to help him lose his weight. He’s lost 4kg this week, so at least he’s lost something.’
Katie also previously revealed she was forced to padlock the fridge in a bid to stop Harvey from accessing snacks because his excess appetite was ‘killing him’.
She told The Sun in November 2020: ‘It’s a cruel illness. He feels hungry all the time. Every time I feed him, it’s killing him.
‘Even though it makes him happy, it’s cruel of me to do it. He needs to lose weight or he’ll end up dead. He doesn’t deserve that. I don’t want to lose him. He’s got his whole life ahead of him. I will do anything to help.’
