SAMBAZON opens acai bowl concept on Cal State University campus

The SAMBAZON acai brand has opened a bowl concept at California State University in Northridge (CSUN).

SAMBAZON Acai Bowls debuted in partnership with Chartwells Higher Ed, which runs foodservice on the campus. The concept will serve a variety of bowls, including a Chocolate Peanut Butter Acai Bowl and Strawberry Sunrise Acai Bowl. It also menus coffee, smoothies and oatmeal.

“We are thrilled to expand our footprint and bring our SAMBAZON branded acaí bowl shop concept to CSUN’s campus,” SAMBAZON CEO Ryan Black said in a statement. “Opening our doors on a college campus like this is a major milestone.”

The concept hosted a grand opening event this week that featured free acai bowl samples and a version of the backyard game corn hole dubbed corn “bowl,” as well as giveaways and prizes.

Bowls have skyrocketed in popularity in recent years, finding particular traction with college customers and those seeking convenient, healthy options.
